APV/SPX Heat Exchanger Plates

  1. The heat exchanger plates have four corner holes through which the two fluids involved in heat transfer pass. The metal plates are installed within a frame that has a fixed plate and a movable clamping plate on one side, and they are tightened using clamping bolts. The plates are equipped with sealing gaskets, which seal the fluid channels and guide the fluids to flow alternately into their respective passages, facilitating heat exchange. The flow rate, physical properties, pressure drop, and temperature difference of the fluids determine the number and size of the plates required for the heat exchanger.
  2. Heat exchanger plates are manufactured using extremely precise molds for a one-time stamping process. Only plates that are formed in a single step possess the same level of precision. This ensures uniform metal-to-metal contact between the plates, allowing plate heat exchangers to operate effectively under high pressures and withstand pressure shocks from the system.

Operating Principle:

  • plate heat exchanger involves the stacking of metal plates with a certain corrugated shape to create a new type of highly efficient heat exchanger. The structure of the plate heat exchanger includes gaskets, clamping plates (movable end plate, fixed end plate), and a frame (upper and lower guide rods, front support pillar). The plates are sealed and guided by sealing gaskets, creating separate channels for the cold and hot fluids. The cold and hot fluids flow through their respective channels and exchange heat with the adjacent plates to achieve the desired temperature.
  • Each plate has openings at its four corners, and when assembled into a plate bundle, they form distribution and collection channels for the fluids. After the heat exchange between the cold and hot fluids, they return to their respective collection channels and circulate for reuse.
